Keynote Address

Dr. Tim Retzloff received his BA with highest honors in history from the University of Michigan in 2006 and earned his PhD in history from Yale in 2014. Prior to graduate school, he worked for seventeen years in various U-M libraries. He teaches history and LGBTQ studies at Michigan State University. His scholarship has appeared in the anthology Creating a Place for Ourselves, the journal GLQ, Centro: Journal of Puerto Rican Studies, and the collection Making Suburbia. Retzloff is currently at work on his first book, Metro Gay, about gay and lesbian life and politics in Metro Detroit from 1945 to 1985.
